Americans are so stressed that April has been designated as National Stress Awareness Month.
What is stress? There is not just one definition, you can experience physical, mental, or emotional strain or tension. Not all stress is bad, but if long-term, it can have harmful impacts on your physical and mental health.
Do you know the difference between stress and anxiety? The National Institute of Mental Health provides tips on how to build resilience and manage job stress. You can go to their website for ways to handle your stress.
NIH offers Employee Assistance Program which focus on confidential counseling and enhanced well-being of your employees. The Office of Ombudsman also has confidential, informal services such as coaching, facilitation, and mediation.
